About

Hello! It's me, Caroline. I'm the founder of Soechting, and I'm so glad you're here. If you're reading this page, I'm guessing it's because you'd like to learn a bit more about the brand, so here we go:

I started Soechting with one primary goal in mind: to create clothing that would make women feel beautiful, playful, and feminine, and most importantly, that was made to last, both in style and in quality.

We like to keep things simple around here, so we are starting off with one dress design, the Ruthie Dress, aptly named after my very stylish grandmother, Ruth Metz. Her fashion sense had an early impact on me, and naming the first dress after her is a way to say thank you for all of the wonderful style advice she passed down to my mother and me, in addition to the many other admirable qualities she carried.

While the fashion industry traditionally encourages designers and brands to launch with a complete collection, I felt that wasn't necessary. We live in an era where the modern woman can shop from a variety of designers, and in my opinion, should. We also live in an era of excess, which I personally don't align with. So instead of making several pieces, I decided we would make one exceptional dress, produced in small batches in the heart of New York City. By doing this, we limit waste as much as possible while also supporting the American fashion industry.

Ask any designer or brand owner: it would have been much easier to make the dress overseas, but easy isn't our M.O. We're up for a challenge, especially if it means creating the best garment we can while supporting American businesses. And truly, it feels so special to create a tag that says "Made in New York City."

Now, we are all caught up. If you have any questions, please reach out. We hope you love the dress, and are so grateful for your support. We can't wait to get to know you better.

Gratefully,

Caroline
